Join Max, one of our awesome MODA educators and fellow skateboarder to explore the design process behind making a skateboard graphic. Use digital tools to plan and design a work of vector art that will be applied it to a deck that we will provide.
Be introduced to skateboard graphics from their beginnings in the 1960’s to current time.
Learn about the history of skateboarding and the graphic design of boards, as well as some lingo!

Create vector art using the free open source program Inkscape
Learn the basic principles of graphic design in the context of skateboard graphics, including use of alignment, hierarchy, contrast, repetition, proximity, balance, color and space.
Participation and materials fee: $60 non-members, $65 for MODA members. Price includes a full-size skateboard deck and admission to our current exhibition. This workshop is great for ages 12+.
*Printing will happen off-site and your board will be ready within a month.
